E safety and homework
Reading homework
Children in Owls class will be asked to read or share books together with an adult at least 4 times a week.
A reading journal that is used both in school and at home will show reading progress. Children are encouraged to write or draw about the books they read.
Spellings and phonics homework
Children will be asked to practise a phoneme or phonemes each week, words that follow a pattern or that are tricky words are sent alongside this for practise. A video showing the models and games we may use in school is uploaded onto google classroom on a Sunday. The children will be given an informal test of these practise words on a Friday.
Maths homework
The children will be given a small book with a practise task or game in on a Friday to bring home. These should be returned completed by Wednesday. Support for this will be available on google classroom.
