What are Curriculum Road Maps and why do we use them at Brington?
Our Curriculum Road Maps have been designed by the staff at Brington; they enable us to plan and map the topics that will be taught throughout each academic year. The plans are developed collectively by all teaching staff so that we can ensure the units of work and topics chosen are purposefully sequenced between different year groups and build on all previous learning. Each subject has its own Road Map which details the yearly teaching overview from EYFS to Year 6. The teaching staff have also decided on specific strands which are highlighted throughout the maps (coloured stars) which show where themes are revisited, built upon at a later stage in a cohort's primary learning journey. The strands identified in the road maps are used in conjunction with our Progression of Skills and Knowledge Overviews.
