Wow, what a great night was had by all at the BSA Christmas Fair. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved in the preparations and to everyone who came along and joined in the fun. Here are some photos.
What a fabulous day we have had today, making all things Christmassy, including Christmas cakes, tree decorations (to sell at the Christmas Fair), reindeer food and Christmas cards.
A massive thank you to Heidi Dent, Jen Hickey and Tamsin Olney for all their hard work organizing this super day - and now we are SO excited about our Christmas Fair this evening!
We were thrilled to welcome Pudsey Bear and Stevie Spring (Chair, BBC Children in Need) to Brington School today, especially as Stevie told us Pudsey only visits about six schools each year, and they are usually VERY LARGE ones. Stevie explained how Children in Need had started as a five minute radio appeal back in 1927 and has since gone on to raise more than £850 million to help children 'in need'.
She said, "Every single penny matters. Whether you raise £5 or £50 or £500, every single penny goes to help children around the UK, I just mind that you're helping out. So I'm here to say thank you."
Pupils will be raising money next Friday by wearing spotty clothes and having a spotty cake sale. Some of our Year 6 pupils have also organized a 'Brington's Got Talent' competition, the winners of which will be performing in our special 'Children in Need' assembly next Friday (18th) at 2.20pm.
THANK YOU PUDSEY, for coming to Brington and we are really looking forward to next Friday when we will do our very best for 'Children in Need'.
On Tuesday 18th October 2016 Badgers Class (year 5&6) took part in a HSSP Primary School tag rugby tournament.
We entered two teams; an A Team and a B Team. The A Team was made up of: Josh Tomlinson, Peter Anderson, Rhys Davies, Matthew Kay, Tazio Chiari, Tanya Jackson, Pippa Moore, Gracie Hallewell, Maia Innes and Amaya Ferry-Jones.
The B Team played excellently but sadly lost all of their matches. Although they did get better as they played on. The B Team was made up of: Lucy Hunt, Reggie Dear, Gabriella Simonis, Molly Avery, Sam Squires, PJ Gaskin, Ava Triance, Millie Walters, Danny Joe –Howie, Shamas Harrod and Alistair Outram.
Overall the A Team came 3rd out of 8 teams because they lost one match against Spaldwick but were really pleased and got a certificate for taking part and a certificate for teamwork.
The B Team also came 3rd out 4 teams. We were all really pleased as this a huge achievement.
Josh Tomlinson and Peter Anderson Said: “When we were getting ready for the first match I was buzzing! When we won our first match I felt adrenaline running! When we lost a match against Spaldwick I felt all right because they did play well. When I (Peter) got so many tries I felt so good and glad I helped the team so much!”
The teachers that accompanied us were Mrs Reid, Mrs Kennedy, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Sheehan. Jay Wilkin also came to take pictures for the media team.
