Today, we would like you to consider signing up for the Cambridgeshire Libraries 'Summer Reading Challenge' if you haven't already done so. You can use the link below to sign up (an adult will need to sign up too to verify your account) and there are lists of texts and audio books that will be available for free online over the summer.

English Lesson

Today, we would like you to complete a task so that we can add your voice to your school reports before they are sent home to your families in a couple of weeks.

1. Firstly, we would like you to complete a high-quality illustration of your favourite lesson or event of this school year. Will it be our visit to Jorvik? Or planning and building the Viking longhouse? Or the songs we sang in parts at Christmas? Or 'Young Voices'? It's entirely your choice.

2. Secondly, we would like a short piece of writing from you about how you feel your are getting on with your learning. See if you can answer these key questions...

  • Which subjects or areas of subjects do you feel you are making the most progress in and why? What have you achieved this year?
  • Which subjects or areas of subjects do you feel you need to work further on and why? What are your own personal targets for the next academic year?
  • How do you feel you have coped with lockdown and learning at home? Is there anything you have learnt about or learnt to do that you are particularly proud of?

When you have drafted your writing, check it VERY carefully for capital letters, spelling, punctuation and sense. You might want to get someone at home to check it for you. After that, write it up in your neatest handwriting and then send us a picture via the blog or school e-mail, please.
